Mission Statement

THE BEAD SOCIETY OF GREATER CHICAGO is an Illinois not-for-profit corporation and an IRC Section 501© (7) organization. The society was founded in 1989 and is dedicated to the study, discussion and exchange of information about beads and beadwork. Its objective is to educate its members and the general public about the historic and artistic importance of beads and beadwork.
The Bead Society of Greater Chicago is a great place to gather with other artists who work with beads; from lampworkers, to bead weavers, to artists who use beads instead of paint. Our meetings are not only wonderful opportunities to meet other bead enthusiasts, they are also a great place to listen to artists, educators, and jewelry designers talk about their work and the valuable information they’ve learned over the years.
